Level 2 IT User Skills
The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills course is suitable for anyone who currently works with IT within their job role, or simply just want to improve their IT Skills.
The course is aimed at developing skills in Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Powerpoint and Excel. You will be encouraged to think how you can use IT in lots of different ways in everyday life.
The following units are covered in the free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills course:
Unit 1: Using IT to increase productivity
Unit 2: IT software fundamentals
Unit 3: IT security for users
Unit 4: Presentation software
Unit 5: Spreadsheet software
Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.
We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.

The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills course course is assessed in the following way:
Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses will be typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with online materials to assist with assessments.
You will be required to submit 5 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.
Please note: There are elements in this course which are assessed by datafiles and screenshots. Access to a computer and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential to be able to complete this course.
Upon completion, you will receive an electronic certificate, which will be sent to you via email. A paper certificate can be issued upon request.
The free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills course is currently being subsidised by the college and is, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete it; in which case you will be liable to pay £85 to cover the cost of materials.
