Level 3 Principles of End of Life Care

The Level 3 Principles of End of Life Care qualification covers the key topics relating to end of life care. In particular, you will learn about the emotive issues surrounding death and dying and develop your understanding of palliative care and its place within end of life care.

The course reviews how best to support a person’s familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs, along with the support services available to the individual and others. In addition you will explore the processes of loss and grief and how to support those who are bereaved and also how to cope with your own feelings of stress and grief.

Entry Requirements

Although there are no formal entry requirements for this course, due to the nature and course delivery of distance Learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum Level 2 English Literacy qualification or GCSE grade C/3 or above. It is desirable that you have completed a Level 2 Distance Learning programme previously.

You will also be required to submit a 500 word “assignment” to assess suitability. Further details can be supplied on request. Phone 01472 347408 for information.

How is it Assessed

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions in a work booklet, either handwritten answers or completion of the assessment booklet using an electronic template which can be provided. 

This course takes 8 weeks to complete and consists of 2 written assessments, each taking 4 weeks to complete.
