Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support
The free distance learning level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support course is aimed at anyone who supports an adult with cancer either working in health or social care sectors or an individual who cares for someone living with cancer.
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This can be a very scary and daunting time for both the person diagnosed and their family. This course will inform on what cancer is, the different types of treatment available and the best way to provide support to those living with cancer.
The following units are covered in the free distance learning Level 2 certificate in Understanding Cancer Support course:
Unit 1: Cancer awareness.
Unit 2: Introduction to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Unit 3: Introduction to cancer care and support.
Unit 4: Introduction to end of life and bereavement care.
Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.
We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.
You will be required to submit 2 assessments each taking 6 weeks to complete.
Upon completion, you will receive a paper certificate through the post.
This free distance learning Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Cancer Support course is currently being subsidised by the college and is, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete it; in which case you will be liable to pay £85 to cover the cost of materials.
