Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace

The free distance learning level 2 in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace course is suitable for anyone who wants to support colleagues with mental health problems.  From individuals to managers this course will give you the skills and knowledge to help improve mental health wellbeing in a place of learning or work.

You will gain knowledge in understanding mental health conditions and how to support colleagues in the workplace, how to spot the signs that someone may be experiencing a problem or a crisis in their mental health, how to signpost correctly and safely and how to protect your own mental health.

This qualification considers how the workplace in particular has an affect on mental wellbeing and how to work towards creating a mentally healthy environment.

The following units are covered in the free distance learning Level 2 certificate in Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace course:

Unit 1: Exploring mental health.

Unit 2: Understand how to support individuals with mental ill health.

Unit 3: Understand a mentally healthy environment.

Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.

If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.

We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.

If you are unsure of your level of literacy, please let us know.

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 1 assessments each taking 6 weeks to complete.

Upon completion, you will receive a paper certificate through the post.

This free distance learning Level 2 Understanding Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health Advocacy in the Workplace course is currently being subsidised by the college and is, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete it; in which case you will be liable to pay £85 to cover the cost of materials.
