Level 2 Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition
The free distance learning Level 2 Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition course aims to provide knowledge on the importance of exercise and nutrition and how this can benefit the well-being of individuals. This course can be seen as an expansion to the Level 2 Understanding Nutrition and Health course as it goes in to deeper analysis in anatomy and monitoring/evaluating one’s exercise and nutrition lifestyle.
A poor diet and lack of exercise are seen as some of the major factors in ill health. Regular exercise and a balanced diet is important in one’s life and it helps to reduce stress, improve sleep, reduce the risk of illness and increase the quality of life.
Having a good understanding of diets, nutrition, exercise and personal motivation is vital in order to maintain well-being of yourself and others.
The following units are covered on the free distance learning Level 2 Improving Personal Exercise, Health and Nutrition course, and will help you to understand the importance of nutrition and exercise, and how to devise a good nutrition and exercise plan:
Unit 1 – Understand health, well-being and exercise
Unit 2 – Understand the role of nutrition in exercise
Unit 3 – Plan and prepare for personal exercise and nutrition
Due to the nature and course delivery of distance learning we require all applicants to hold a minimum of English Literacy Level 1 or equivalent.
If you are between 19-23 years of age you must also have already achieved a full level 2 qualification (or higher) or 5 GCSE Grades A*-C/Grade 9-4.
We will require evidence of this in order to receive funding for you.

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses can either be handwritten in the assessment booklets or typed using electronic templates which are provided at induction. Candidates are issued with workbooks to assist with assessments.
You will be required to submit 3 assessments. The first 2 assessments taking 3 weeks and the final assessment taking 6 weeks to complete.
You will need to produce nutrition and exercise plans as part of the final assessment. Once you have used the plans, you are asked to outline your progress, measure and record any differences and evaluate the plans.
Upon completion, you will receive a paper certificate through the post.
This course is currently being subsidised by the college and is, therefore, free of charge at present UNLESS you fail to complete it; in which case you will be liable to pay £85 to cover the cost of materials.
