Level 3 End of Life Care
The distance learning Level 3 Principles of End of Life Care course covers the key topics relating to end of life care. In particular, you will learn about the emotive issues surrounding death and dying and develop your understanding of palliative care and its place within end of life care.
The distance learning course reviews how best to support a person’s familial, spiritual, social and emotional needs, along with the support services available to the individual and others. In addition you will explore the processes of loss and grief and how to support those who are bereaved and also how to cope with your own feelings of stress and grief.

On the distance learning Level 3 Principles of End of Life Care course, you will learn:
Part A
- Unit 1: Understanding end of life care
- Unit 2: Communication during end of life care
- Unit 3: Assessment and care planning in end of life care
Part B
- Unit 4: Person centred approaches to end of life care
- Unit 5: Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care
Although there are no formal entry requirements for this free distance learning Level 3 Principles of End of Life Care course, due to the nature and course delivery, we require all applicants to hold a minimum Level 2 English Literacy qualification or GCSE grade C/4 or above. It is desirable that you have completed a Level 2 Distance Learning programme previously.
You will also be required to submit a 500 word “assignment” to assess suitability. Further details can be supplied on request. Phone 01472 347408 for information.
Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses will be typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with online materials to assist with assessments
This course takes 8 weeks to complete and consists of 2 written assessments, each taking 4 weeks to complete.
Upon completion, you will receive a paper certificate through the post.
