Level 3 Understanding Autism
The distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism course is great for those that wish to improve their knowledge surrounding Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), including the diagnosis and management of people with Autism, and how people may live with Autism and how it can affect them.
On the distance learning course, you will learn modules such as understanding Autism, behavioural support for individuals with Autism, communication and social interaction and safeguarding.
It is also useful for those that are looking to progress after completion of our Level 2 Understanding Autism in a Health Care Setting course.
On the distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism course, you will learn:
Unit 1 – Understand Autism in context
Unit 2 – Understand positive behavioural support for individuals with Autism
Unit 3 – Understand how to support and manage transitions for individuals with Autism
Unit 4- Understand the therapeutic interventions and support available for individuals with Autism and co-occurring conditions
Unit 5 – Understand communication and social interaction with individuals with Autism
Unit 6 – Understand safeguarding and resilience in the context of Autism
Although there are no formal entry requirements for the distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Autism course, due to the nature and course delivery , we require all applicants to hold a minimum Level 2 English Literacy qualification or GCSE grade C/4 or above. It is desirable that you have completed a Level 2 Distance Learning programme previously; especially our Level 2 Awareness of Mental Health Problems course.
You will also be required to submit a 500 word “assignment” to assess suitability. Further details can be supplied on request. Phone 01472 347408 for information.
Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses will be typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with online materials to assist with assessments
You will be required to submit 5 assessments – each taking 4 weeks.
Upon completion, you will receive an electronic certificate, which will be sent to you via email. A paper certificate can be issued upon request.
