Level 3 Understanding Mental Health

The distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health course is aimed at those wanting to further their understanding and knowledge of mental health problems people can face, the treatment for these conditions available and how people may live with a mental health condition.

The course includes modules such as understanding mental health conditions, destructive behaviour, treatment of mental health and the role as carers.

It is also great for those that are looking to progress after their completion of our Level 2 Awareness of Mental Health Problems.

On the distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health course, you will learn:

Unit 1 – Understand mental health conditions in context

Unit 2 – Living with a mental health condition

Unit 3 – Mental health conditions and destructive behaviour

Unit 4-  Understanding treatment of mental health conditions

Unit 5 – Understand the role of the mental health care worker

Although there are no formal entry requirements for the distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health course, due to the nature and course delivery, we require all applicants to hold a minimum Level 2 English Literacy qualification or GCSE grade C/4 or above. It is desirable that you have completed a Level 2 Distance Learning programme previously; especially our Level 2 Awareness of Mental Health Problems course.

You will also be required to submit a 500 word “assignment” to assess suitability. Further details can be supplied on request. Phone 01472 347408 for information.

The distance learning Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health course will take 20 weeks to complete and consists of 5 written assessments.

Each candidate is required to give written responses to questions, which will be submitted to a qualified script marker to assess. These responses will be typed using our fully online EQUAL platform. Candidates are issued with online materials to assist with assessments.

You will be required to submit 5 assessments each taking 4 weeks to complete.

Upon completion, you will receive an electronic certificate, which will be sent to you via email. A paper certificate can be issued upon request.
